Reporting Contacts and Procedures - Junco

Please refer to the Junco Radio Protocol instructions in this handbook.

The Forest Service should also be contacted by radio for Forest Service related emergencies (such as an unattended campfire) and serious regulation violations (such as a bicyclist riding in the Wilderness Area).

To communicate non emergencies call the FS office at 887-4100 when you return home and report it or leave a message.

Emergency Situation- For a life threatening situation, loss person, severe criminal act, etc., contact the Granby Sheriff. Switch the radio channel to “Grnd Shrf”, wait 15 seconds, and then say “Grand Sheriff, this is cabin host at Junco”.

Please only call Grand Sheriff in REAL emergencies. A dog off leash, someone without a Indian Peaks Wilderness permit who intends to camp, someone who littered, etc…..IS NOT AN Emergency.
