Grand County Wilderness Group
QUICK LINKS
OUR MISSION: To assist the US Forest Service in the preservation, protection, improvement and public understanding of the wilderness areas in Grand County.
Welcome!
The Grand County Wilderness Group (GCWG) is a 100% volunteer 501(c)3 non profit dedicated to preserving and protecting the wilderness areas of Grand County. Due to their close proximity to the Colorado Front Range & Denver metro area, they are among the most heavily used wilderness areas in the U.S. and face increasing risk of degradation.
Since it was founded in 1994, GCWG has partnered with the U.S. Forest Service in a collaborative stewardship to preserve and protect these wilderness areas. The GCWG achieves its mission by managing several programs aligned within its four strategic goals of Wilderness Restoration, Education, Advocacy, and Patrolling.
